Tucson victim identified

On April 9, 2007, at 8:42 a.m., Tucson Police Department homicide detectives began an investigation into the death of an adult female who was found in a dirt lot in the 7700 block of S. Wilmot Road. When she was found, the victim carried no identification and there were no obvious signs of foul play. Detectives are awaiting the final results of the autopsy, which was performed to determine the cause of death.

During the initial investigation, detectives developed information that the victim was a resident of Mexico, who had entered the United States illegally. Working through the Mexican Consulate, investigators were unable to identify/contact the victim’s next of kin.

The victim was subsequently identified as Julia Del Carmen Osorio-Jacome, 38, of Guatemala. The Guatemalan Consulate assisted in advising the victim’s next of kin.
